Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 31, 2026

Firefighter Academy is committed to providing an accessible learning experience to all candidates, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, and we use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our working standard.

Our commitment to accessibility

We design and build our website and practice platform so that they can be used with a keyboard, with screen readers, and with browser zoom or text resizing. This includes descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images, clear heading structure, descriptive links and buttons, and colour contrast intended to remain readable for users with low vision.

Continuous improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time project. We review new pages, practice questions, and features for accessibility barriers as they are released, and we correct issues we identify or that are reported to us. Some older content, third-party embeds, and image-based practice questions may not yet fully meet our target standard; where a barrier exists, we will work with you to provide the content in another way.

Requesting accessible formats or communication supports

If you need any of our study material, policies, or communications in an accessible format (for example, plain text, large print, or an accessible document), or you need a communication support to use the Service, contact us at firefighteracademy.ca@gmail.com. We will consult with you about your needs and provide the material in a suitable format in a timely manner and at no additional cost beyond the regular price of the Service.

Accessibility feedback

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of Firefighter Academy. If you encounter a barrier, please tell us the page or feature involved, the assistive technology or browser you were using, and what happened. You can reach us by email at firefighteracademy.ca@gmail.com or through our contact page. Feedback is accepted in whatever format works best for you, and we aim to acknowledge every accessibility request within five business days.
