Fire Fighters

Nanaimo Fire Rescue is currently recruiting for exceptional candidates to join our world-class public safety organization as Fire Fighters. We are looking for individuals who have the skills, experience, and passion to serve the public, work effectively in a team environment, and assist those in need. The career starts as a Flex Fire Fighter, who works full-time hours while being adaptable to the department's operational needs and short-notice schedule changes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls and perform firefighting operations.
• Conduct fire prevention and safety inspections.
• Participate in training and drills to maintain skills and knowledge.
• Assist in community education regarding fire safety.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure public safety.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must meet all minimum requirements by the posting closing date.
• Valid certifications as required (with exceptions noted)
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in emergency response or public safety.
• Knowledge of firefighting equipment and techniques.
